Whisky and other wonderful things

Nose: Somewhat cloying, malt, rice pudding, smoke, smoked sausages, golden delicious apples.

Palate: Smokiness at first, then a fruity sweetness which manages to be at once fresh and smooth.

Comments: This is much better than I expected – a pleasant surprise. A finish that works!

Palate: Smoke (lots), full-bodied.

Comments: Quite simple, but VERY nice.

Nose: Smoke, chocolate.

Palate: A lot of smoke, bitter chocolate, wood.

Comments: A nice Caol Ila.

Score: 8.5 out of 10

Nose: Smoke, salt, sweetness.

Palate: Tar, antisceptic, medicinal, iodine. Somewhat sharp in a slightly unpleasant way.

Score: 6 out of 10
