Nose: Aceton, oak, minerals, rock, a hint of raisins.
Palate: Sweetness, minerals – I almost feel like I get sand in my teeth.
Comment: Either no water or LOTS of water, a little just opened for loads of alchohol sting.
Score: 6 out of 10

Nose: Aceton, oak, minerals, rock, a hint of raisins. Palate: Sweetness, minerals – I almost feel like I get sand in my teeth. Comment: Either no water or LOTS of water, a little just opened for loads of alchohol sting. Score: 6 out of 10 Nose: Sawdust, flowers, liquorice, vanilla, coffee, coffee-flavoured fudge. Palate: Sweet liquorice, coffee-flavoured fudge, Dutch Rademaker Hopjes Comments: Very strange. More pastis-like than whisky-like. I like it, though. Score: 7 out of 10 Nose: Fresh, fruity, with water smoke appears. Palate: Smoke, though not a lot of it. Comments: This was my second round of tasting notes on this one, and interestingly enough I ended on a score of 6 out of 10 this time, too, despite having no recollection of having written notes on it before. Nose: Ripe fruits, baked apples, vanilla, sweetness and a hint of chocolate. Palate: Rich, resin, pine and wood. Clean smoke on the finish, but with a hint of rubber. Points: 5.5 out of 10 Nose: Lemon, lemon curd, malt. Palate: Spices, bitter vanilla, lemon, “tangy”. Score: 7 out of 10 Tasted at ”Ian goes international” with Ian Millar, Spirit of Speyside, 5 Mai 2007. Nose: Barbequed meat Palate: Peat, wooden pier, smooth. Comments: Both nose and palate are more complex than that, in fact for me they are simply too complex, so complex it appears homogenous. I can’t separate the various components in order to put words to them. As such this reminds me more of a vatted malt than a single malt. Score: 6 out of 10 |
